Getting to Know Belmont
One of Calgary's newer SW communities, Belmont welcomed its first homeowners around 2014 and is still filling in, with construction expected to run through the late 2020s. It sits along the city's southern edge on Stoney Trail SW, sandwiched between Wolf Willow to the east and Legacy to the west.
The housing mix here was planned for variety from the start — standard-lot detached two-storeys, paired homes, townhomes clustered near the commercial corridor, and an expanding rental apartment supply, built out by Brookfield, Jayman, Cardel, and Truman. A central park network and connected pathway system shape day-to-day life in the community.
Schools are one area still catching up to growth, though new on-community sites are in the plans. For now, Centennial High School (CBE) handles public grades 10-12 for much of Belmont. Long-term value gets a boost from the future Green Line LRT extension south, which places Belmont directly along its corridor.
Expect price points from roughly $475K for townhomes up to $725K for detached homes. The buyer base skews toward first- and second-time purchasers, growing families, and a notably high share of newcomers to Calgary, with Stoney Trail SW keeping downtown about 28 minutes away. Worth cross-checking against Legacy, Silverado, and Wolf Willow.
