Getting to Know Crescent Heights
Perched on the bluff overlooking downtown, Crescent Heights delivers some of Calgary's finest skyline views from McHugh Bluff and Rotary Park. One of the city's original streetcar suburbs, dating to the 1900s, it has kept much of its character charm even through decades of infill redevelopment.
The housing stock spans eras on purpose: 1900s-1920s character estates still passed down within families, mid-century rebuilds, contemporary detached infills, low-rise walk-up apartments along Centre Street and the community's southern edge, and an expanding supply of high-rise condos near the planned Green Line LRT corridor on Centre Street. Lot size differs block to block, and the wider bluff-edge parcels carry a noticeable resale premium.
Public schooling runs through Stanley Jones School (CBE) for grades K-6 and Crescent Heights High School (CBE) for grades 10-12, a well-regarded catchment families know by name. Dining and retail are within reach along Centre Street North, the Bridgeland-Memorial LRT platform is roughly a 7-minute walk away, and downtown itself is about 15 minutes on foot across the Centre Street pedestrian bridge.
Budget expectations span roughly $500K for walk-up condos up to $1.4M+ for character estates and modern infills, and the largest bluff-view custom homes can occasionally top $1.8M. It draws young professionals, downtown commuters, design-minded households, and suburban homeowners trading a detached house for inner-city character. See how it stacks up against Renfrew, Bridgeland, and Tuxedo Park.
