Southampton sits where the Saugeen River empties into Lake Huron as the northern centre of Saugeen Shores. Its beach is a quiet, sandy stretch running for miles, and offshore Chantry Island and its historic lighthouse anchor the town's heritage.
Home to the Bruce County Museum and the Southampton Art School, it has a slower, heritage feel than the busier beach towns to the south.
