Folly Lake Waterfront

A Cobequid Hills lake in the Wentworth Valley — four-season cottage country beside Ski Wentworth, between Truro and the Northumberland Shore.

Overview

In the Wentworth Valley

Folly Lake sits in the Cobequid Hills along the Wentworth Valley in northern Nova Scotia, reached off Highway 104 near the Ski Wentworth hill. The odd name traces to an 18th-century settler's farm once called “Flemming's Folly.”

Tucked among forested hills between Truro and the Northumberland Shore, it's one of the prettier drives in the province, especially in fall.

On the water

Four-season lake living

The lake holds smallmouth bass, brook trout and landlocked salmon, and the valley's Ski Wentworth makes this a genuine four-season area — paddling and fishing in summer, skiing in winter.

Waterfront is mostly cottages and year-round homes along the lake, an affordable hill-country retreat within easy reach of Truro.
