The real estate market at Whistler operates by the arithmetic of a resort municipality whose land supply is fixed and whose global profile continues to grow. The Alta Lake, Green Lake, Alpha Lake, and Lost Lake properties provide waterfront in the valley floor alongside the ski resort, an unusual combination that has produced some of BC's most sought-after recreational real estate. The Valley Trail — 40 kilometres of paved multi-use path connecting Whistler's neighbourhoods from Cheakamus Crossing through Village to Emerald Estates — provides cycling and walking infrastructure within the municipality that makes car-free movement between communities practical.
